Biohazard Cleanup and Restoration

In the face of the present pandemic situation, our biohazard cleaning protocols are rapidly evolving to adapt to new information as it becomes available.  The Restoration Industry Association (RIA) in conjunction with the Institute of Inspection, Cleaning and Restoration Certification (IICRC) has developed new protocols for Environmental Cleaning and Disinfection based on recommendations from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). While our team is well trained and experienced in cleaning for biohazard situations, our technicians have completed a re-training in the new protocols.

The new protocols include the application of the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) registered disinfectants that are on their Emerging Pathogens list. For indoor environments where there have been no known or suspected cases of infected persons present, the application of one of these registered disinfectants may be all that is necessary. However, environments that were exposed to someone known or suspected to be infected with the virus require the physical removal of the soil layer prior to the application of disinfectants.

Part of our reason for adopting the new protocols is to provide a more cost-effective approach to the businesses and institutions in Everett. The registered disinfectants can be applied by fogging the area with our Flex-A-Lite 2600 Ultra-Low Volume Mister.  The device emits a very fine mist of droplets down to just 20 microns in size, dispensing only the necessary quantity of disinfectant.  This makes it both environmentally safer as well as more economical.

Common Biohazard Scenarios

Sewage Backups

Sewage backups and dark water intrusions are more than nasty, smelly deposits – these damages also introduce harmful microorganisms into a structure. We remove the sewage, contaminants, and moisture, and help ensure the structure is properly cleaned, disinfected, and deodorized.

Bloodborne Pathogens

We remove and dispose of bodily fluids, tissue and other potentially pathogenic substances resulting from accident, trauma, crime or death. Trained SERVPRO of South Everett Professionals clean, disinfect and deodorize the structure.

Illegal Drug Manufacturing Labs / Meth Labs

SERVPRO realizes many of the chemicals used in the production of illegal drugs such as "meth" are volatile and can leave harmful residues throughout a structure. We follow federal and state guidelines to properly clean all surfaces.
