Mold in the Attic of this Lake Stevens Home

A lack of ventilation and good airflow in this Lake Stevens home led to microbial growth throughout the attic space. The baffles were blocked with insulation, preventing airflow throughout the attic space.

Using Containment Chamber to Treat Mold in Lake Stevens Home

In order to mitigate the mold in this Lake Stevens home, SERVPRO of North Everett/ Lake Stevens/ Monroe set up containment chambers to contain spores (shown above). HEPA vacuums were used to remove any surface growth and to collect any spores on sheetrock. Our team then used a HEPA air scrubber to collect any spores released into the air during the HEPA vacuuming. The final step was to treat with MMR solution to remove any roots remaining in the plywood sheathing.

Equipment Set Up for Water Damage Job in Lake Stevens

Shown here, is the equipment set up to dry this wet kitchen. In jobs like this, a dehumidifier is set up to remove moisture from the air. Air movers (such as the one shown on the counter) are then used to circulate the air, and to ensure all the moisture is removed from the air. A space saving air mover (shown at the bottom of the photo) was also used to dry the back splash. To further help quicken the drying process, the area was reduced in size with the use of a temporary wall (shown to the right).

Monroe Water Damage - Unseen Water Causing Problems

It's the water that goes unseen that causes the most damage. In this Monroe home, the initial damage didn't seem bad until the carpet was pulled up and the affected carpet pad was revealed. Damage to the sub-flooring was also evident when the carpet pad was pulled back.

Water Extraction and Carpet

We recently employed the use of a Rover Water Extractor on a large commercial water loss. As the name suggests, this equipment helps extract water from deep in the carpet, thus reducing drying times. The Rover is most helpful in areas that are hard to access with a larger water extractor. The Rover is portable, quick and easy to use. It can be used on a large variety of carpets and is especially suited for commercial carpets.

Water Damaged Hardwood Floors in Edmonds, WA

Water damage can be terrible for your hardwood floors. Floors typically have a bowing or cupping reaction to the water damage. Our Injectidry specialty drying equipment can be used to help dry hardwood floors and potentially save the floors from a more-costly replacement. This equipment is ideal for spot drying; it’s durable and easy to use. It is used with a pressure blower to vacuum water vapor out of wet hardwoods. Its gasket seal makes taping unnecessary. The mat is hands off; once installed it can be left alone. The process is non-invasive, so the chance of floor damage is less.

Water Damage at Local School

Faculty members from a local school had a rude awakening when they came back from winter break to discover extensive flooding throughout the entire building. We were called out to take care of the damages. The building suffered damage to the ceilings, floors and walls. We extracted the water, set up equipment and monitored daily to ensure everything dried properly. No matter the size, we can handle all of your commercial losses.

Hydroxyl Generator Use in Issaquah House Fire

This Hydroxyl Generator was used to aid in deodorization for a house fire in Issaquah. The Hydroxyl Generator has several benefits that the Ozone Generator does not. The main benefit is that the room that is being treated can be occupied during the deodorization process. Although the Ozone Generator works quicker than the Hydroxyl, it removes all oxygen from the area, which creates an unsafe environment for people, animals and plants. The Hydroxyl Generator can be used to treat other damage besides fire and smoke, including biohazard jobs, water damage, crime scene situations and animal odors.

Documentation Process for Fire Remediation Job

This Issaquah home was damaged by fire and the homes contents were packed out and cleaned while the home’s structure underwent cleaning. When packing out contents from this home, we used a documentation process to ensure no items were lost or misplaced. First, we took photos of the items being taken from the home. Then items were carefully boxed, and each box was individually labeled. Items could be cross-referenced with the inventory list for easy access. Our hope is to put customers at ease knowing each of their items is accounted for and that when they return to their house everything will be put back as it was before the disaster, making their home "Like it never even happened."

Thermal Fogging Used In Everett Business

An important first step in the fire mitigation process is Thermal Fogging. The fog molecules bond with the soot molecules and remove odor. Soot is acidic and will quickly damage a structure’s components such as metal and glass. The fog is alkaline based and neutralizes the acid from the soot particles. Thermal Fogging acts similarly to the smoke that caused the damage. The fog removes contaminants from the air and is able to reach cracks and crevices that can't be reached by hand cleaning. This space is a 2,100 square foot commercial building in Everett that sustained heavy smoke damage after a fire. Thermal Fogging was used to neutralize the smoke and soot odors.

Grease Fire in Lake Stevens Kitchen

The aftermath of a kitchen fire can be overwhelming. A grease fire created significant amounts of smoke and soot damage in this Lake Stevens kitchen. The top right picture shows the soot webs formed from the hot soot clinging to air particles and then sticking to the cooler areas in the room. The lower picture shows how effective our cleaning techniques are.

Smoke Damage in Lake Stevens

Smoke and soot damage can travel into every nook and cranny of a home. This was a grease fire and while the surfaces may not look too affected, the damage was even more apparent once the cabinets were removed. The original wall color was revealed as well as the extent of the damage. The cabinetry was unable to be saved because the fire had charred the wood. We were able to remove the soot and grease, repaint the room and replace the cabinets.

Damage Caused by Plastic Wet Smoke in Everett Home

This photo shows the extensive damage caused by a wet smoke fire, which is created by burning plastics and synthetics. Wet smoke is one of the most damaging smokes because the wet soot sticks to everything.

Get Professional Help When Dealing With Fire Damage

The damage a fire leaves behind is often overwhelming and the damage can be extensive. We help ensure your home is properly cleaned and sealed. Even after cleaning off soot and debris, odors can remain. We know how to remove long lasting smells and odors safely and effectively.

Water Damage Leads to Mold

It's important to mitigate water damage as soon as possible. Mold can grow within 72 hours. Sheetrock, along with other porous materials, acts like a sponge, wicking up water and moisture, which can then grow mold very easily and quickly. We will investigate where the water has migrated to, which helps us determine the best way to dry the structure and minimize losses to your home.

We Help with Storm Damage & Tree Damage

This photo shows how quickly a fallen tree on the roof can lead to water damage. A tree crashed through this home's roof and water soon began to leak through onto the carpet and subflooring. Once we tarped up the roof, we came in and extracted the water and began the drying process. We created a drying chamber, as shown in the bottom right photo, by hanging plastic to close off the affected area. We set up a dehumidifier and air movers in the closed off area. This closed system helped quicken the drying process by concentrating the equipment's efforts.

November Storms in Sultan

The biggest threat to restoration work is time. Never wait to get the affected area taken care of. To efficiently dry this structure we had to flood cut the wet drywall. If not dried quickly, water can be wicked up into the drywall. The drywall then needs to be removed. The removal of the drywall also allows the wall behind to be dried properly.

Come Monday, the storefront, offices, restrooms, and the warehouse were flooded. Our team was on site within 4 hours of the initial call to start the water extraction, the setup of dehumidifiers, and air movers. The source was from a leaking pipe connected to a water fountain.

Commercial Water Damage Job at a Warehouse in Everett, WA

This photo shows an air mover set up in conjunction with a dehumidifier. When we start drying a room we calculate the humidity in the air and the square footage of the room so we can determine the number of air movers and dehumidifiers needed to sufficiently dry the room.

Commercial Water Loss

Water damage can come from a slow leak or a rush of water. This business was flooded because of a backed up storm drain behind the building. We went in and set up dehumidifiers and air movers, then let them run until the area was dried completely.

Ultrasonic Cleaners in Snohomish

We have several ultrasonic cleaners in our warehouse in Snohomish. We use these cleaners when contents are contaminated with soot, dust, dirt, oil, rust, grease, fungus, lime scale, fingerprints or blood. Ultrasonic Cleaning performs best on hard materials such as metals, plastics, aluminum, and ceramics. We can even clean electrical items such as cables, rods, and wires. They are frequently used to clean items damaged in a fire such as china, pots, pans, glasses, eyewear, jewelry and metal window blinds.

Rover Water Extractor Used in Everett

Our technician used the Rover Water Extractor to extract water from this structure. The Rover Water Extractor is a high-volume extractor commonly used for commercial buildings. It maximizes water removal from multiple carpet types to facilitate faster drying. The Rover is easy to use, quick, and portable.

Fogging in Monroe Home

We use fogging in homes that have smoke and soot odors left after a fire. Thermal fogging uses heat to convert liquid into a fog that can penetrate walls, much like the smoke particles from a fire. The fog removes contaminants from the air and is able to reach into cracks and crevices that can't be reached by hand cleaning, which helps neutralizes the soot odors.
